YOUNG LADIES SEXUAL HEALTH PROJECT

In April 2004 the young ladies form the Frimley Green Youth Centre did a sponsored stay awake in order to raise money for a sexual heath weekend they wanted to take part in. The five girls ( Steph , Louise, Sam, Jass  and Metalika) came to the youth center at 10:00 pm and stayed awake for 10 hours until 8:00 am the following morning. The girls raised in total £ 251, including the money they were sponsored and £100 from  Surrey Clubs for young people. We took part in many activities during the stay awake.

Then, on the 28th May the girls finally got to go to their sexual health weekend away. They participated in 4 workshops - Safer Sex, Saying no to Sex, Breast Cancer and Alcohol, and 2 activities - High ropes courses and Zip wire. All the girls said they learnt loads and found the trip very interesting and never ran put of things to do. They thought the workshops were very educational and gave us the information school's don't, and gave us more detail on subjects that were just printed out in a text book.

We all got a much better understanding of sex and sexual activities and really enjoyed the project.
