At FGYC we recognise young people's achievements in both formal and informal ways. We understand that what can seem to some young people a massive achievement can be viewed by others as relatively minor one or not an achievement at all.

Whilst the staff team at FGYC will continue to support young people to recognise and value their achievements we respect that some young people choose not to have their achievements officially recognised.

In September 2004 thirty young people were invited  to a presentation evening at FGYC to formally recognise their achievements through participating in residential youth work in 2004. All young people were presented with a Duke of Edinburgh Certificate of Prior Learning. (see photos below)

Many young people invited their family and friends to this event with everyone involved being very proud of young people's achievements..... and rightly so.

Several of the young people involved are keen to receive further accreditation and recognition for their achievements and are currently involved in new projects at FGYC. This event will be definitely be repeated in 2005.!

The residential weekends all took place at Avon Tyrell Activity Centre in the New Forest involving young people participating in the following projects.
